Ok actually I’m really nervous today as tomorrow will be my first rally! Technically its my second rally, but last years clubman ended in disappointment as my hydraulic clutch failed getting the car off the trailer and could not be fixed despite amazing effort in the service park. So as I didn’t make the start line, I’m classing tomorrows Tauranga Clubman’s as my first.
I wasn’t expecting to do it this year, but due to the generosity and help of the rally community I will be lining up tomorrow. Saying thanks doesn’t seem enough, but a hug THANK YOU to EVERYONE who has helped me get to this point. I really hope I can do you proud tomorrow.
If you’re anywhere near Tauranga this weekend, come along and have a look. The rally maps (here) have spectator areas marked. Below is the SS1 start times so you can plan which SS to watch and what time first car will be in the stage. Also at the bottom is the seeded entry list.
Some of the cars taking part will be on display at the Mount today from 3pm. They will be on display at the rear of 109 Maunganui Rd, Mt Maunganui ( behind the Mount Brewing Co. Brew Bar – car park nearby. Be a great opportunity to have a good look at the cars and possibly chat to the teams.
I will do an event report following the event, and Paul will be in the stages getting some photos.
