Plans are well underway for the Otago Sports Car Club’s Lawrence Rally, to be held Saturday, November 7.
One of the south island’s most popular gravel rallies, the Mike’s Cars sponsored Lawrence Rally will offer competitors 78 kilometres of competitive stages, on some of the best roads the region has to offer.
This year’s rally will run five stages, all on public roads. The rally starts with the first stage at 11am, with the first car returning to the finish at around 3:30pm.
The organising team are hopeful that New Zealand will be back to Level 1 COVID-19 restrictions by the running for the rally, which will mean some minor changes to the event format.
Should Level 2 restrictions still be in force, extra measures will be in place to keep everyone safe.
Last year’s Lawrence Rally winner, Andrew Graves, is the first entry received. A co-driver of note in the New Zealand Rally Championship, Graves is also more than handy behind the wheel.
