Excitement Over What Could Be for Cox Motorsport

The Cox Motorsport team are looking forward to driver Sloan Cox’s favorite event of the New Zealand Rally Championship, International Rally of Whangarei, being held this weekend from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th April.

As the Taslo Engineering Mitsubishi Evo X rally car proved its reliability and ran smoothly during the opening round Rally Otago, the team have made minimal changes to the car set up ahead of this weekends event. The one minor mechanical issue has been rectified through stripping and rebuilding the driveline and the team are confident that this problem will not present again.

Rally Whangarei is an event that the Cox Motorsport team have came close to conquering and with the stages being very similar to last years event, a lot of time has been spent on preparation and reviewing previous footage to be the best prepared we can to obtain our goals.

“Whangarei is my favourite event of the season. We have always shown good speed up there and our goal this year is to try and finally achieve that podium finish,” states Cox.

The action begins this Friday night from 5.00pm with the rally cars on display at Te Matau ā Pohe Bridge before commencing the super special stage at Pohe Island from 7.00pm.  Over the weekend the team will cover 263km over 16 stages before completing the event on Sunday 3.00pm at Quayside Town Basin, Whangarei.

The team plan on keeping everyone up to date over the weekend of their progress, follow us on www.facebook.com/CoxMotorsport and www.twitter.com/CoxMotorsport
