Join me for a little bit of fun

It’s been a great year for me, and I have seen my website grow massively.  I wanted to try and do something to say thanks for supporting me / my site but wanted it to stay Rally related.

After a bit of thought, I’ve decided to run a “fun” day for those who have supported me this year and can make it along.  It will be on the 30th Nov (Sat) from approx. 10.00 – 17.00, based in Tect Park, Tauranga.  I have secured a road (not the loop), which we can go up and back on (I think it’s about 3kms).

The idea of the day is for drivers / co-drivers and support crew to hang out in a more relaxed environment (which they can’t do at a rally) and maybe give rides to sponsors / team members etc.  The runs are for fun only.  This is NOT a motorsport event.

There will be some sort of BBQ lunch to give the day a break, and to try and encourage people to mix and chat etc.  I’m capping the number of cars to 25, otherwise people won’t get many runs as we will spend all day waiting.

I do have to cover costs of the road etc., so at this stage the fee, I’m hoping, will be no more than $60, and I do have to have a minimum number for the day to be confirmed.

Acceptance will  be on a first in basis, and payment in advance to secure.  Unfortunately, I will not be able to let cars turn up on the day and participate.

Should you wish to come (and I hope that you do!), please email me at jase@alittlebitsideways.co.nz to RSVP by Monday, 28 October 2013.   Not only will it confirm your place, but it will give me an idea of how many to cater for at the BBQ.  That means we need you to RSVP even if you’re not coming with a car.  I want co-drivers / supporters to come along.

The BBQ will probably consist of the usual – bacon sarnies, sausage and bread and some fried up onions (as that’s all Dee can cook!).  Feel free to chuck her a beer as you’re waiting, because she reckons cooking is thirsty work! She also said that she WILL NOT be held liable for any food poisoning or foul tasting food!  We won’t be providing anything to drink, so please ensure you bring something to quench your thirst.  We DO NOT condone drink driving, so please no alcohol until after the cars have finished running, or better yet wait until afterwards and come and have a few beers in the town if you’re keen.

If you want to take someone for a thrill ride, please make sure you bring spare helmets / overalls for them as I don’t have any, and all persons in a car will be required to have these items.

I want to have some fun, and celebrate the success of my website with the people who have made it happen.  Without your support, I’d be sitting here twiddling my thumbs and only half enjoying the rally scene!
