Adding a Forum to the site is something I’ve been thinking about doing for sometime now, but didn’t really know how to go about it. After chatting with a couple people, I decided to go and find out how to create one. (Cheers Ric Chalmers & Jase Addison for your ideas and support, and thanks Adrian from Hodgeman Web Design for some technical help when I got stuck – much appreciated)
I’ve started out with something very basic and how it grows will be down to all of you and how well it gets used.
If you want to have a small profile image appear when you leave comments etc, go to Gravatar and sign up – its FREE. This will let you associate your email address with a photo of your choice. Gravatar will then add that image to your profile image when you use the Forum. It will also work in many other sites that you log into with that email address. They have a short video to watch which explains how it all works. I think you have to sign up for a WordPress.com account (via Gravatar) and they do an email verification check (instant). You then sign into new account and upload images of your choice (it will crop them square). I just did Dee’s and it took less than about 2mins to complete and get it setup.
