New Rallycross Track being developed

New Rallycross track under construction

Development of a new Rallycross Track is well under way in the Bay of Plenty’s Tect Park. The project is a  joint venture between Motorsport Bay of Plenty (MBOP) and Rotorua Car Club.  The Rallycross track has been designed along the lines of the FIA track regulations and is approximately 900m – 1km in length and approx. 12-16m wide – enough for some good side by side action.

The track has some really great elevation changes which should prove exciting and challenging.  The track itself sits inside the natural contours of the land leaving some great spectator vantage points.

It’s planned to further develop the track by sealing parts of it making it a true Rallycross venue.

The next event at Tect Park is on Saturday 28th of February with MBOP’s Day/Night Gravel Sprint Round 2.  It will consist of 6 timed runs (3 during the day and 3 at night). Regs and Entry forms can be found here for those of you who are keen to have a go.
