Hayden Paddon is looking to put some of the previous experience to come away with a clean result from Sardegna which is important not only for his campaign this year, but to regain some confidence after his rather sudden exit from Rally Portugal. Rally Sardegna has good memories for Paddon with his first podium 3 years ago and leading during last year’s event.
Sardegna is one of the toughest rallies on the calendar with lots of attrition and hard on tyres. Paddon will be going into this event with no particular testing, so will be using the setup from Portugal which will be refined to suit.
“I think we just have to bring it back just a little notch for this rally to allow for the conditions which allows us a little bit of leeway if there’s any lose rocks on the road or to try and avoid punctures” said Paddon “Having a clean rally if first and foremost and make it to the finish”
The last two weeks have been spent in rehabilitation mode, working with specialists in Italy to make sure he’s fitting fit for the event.
Paddon is ready to go and looking forward to a strong rally.
