Possum Bourne Motorsport (PBMS) welcomes Clinton Cunningham Rallysport to its 2016 NZRC Rally Team. Clinton is the first to join the team with many other Drivers across Australasia in the process of negotiation with David Thexton Manager of PBMS. Clinton is extremely excited to partner with PBMS saying “Rally names don’t come much bigger than ‘Possum’… and as a child and teenager Possum was my idol. Now to have my 2016 rally program run by the company that he started is certainly an exciting and honourable moment for me.”
Clinton has had considerable success over the last year with his recently acquired Mitsubishi Evo 8 WRC prototype purchased from Poland. The RCK Contractors Evo 8 is built to WRC specifications and has proven to suit Clintons driving style. In recent testing on private forestry roads Clinton was able to dial in the car and make big improvements throughout the day. PBMS has had considerable experience with Mitsubishis over the years with the most notable being Dylan Turner who has been met with success in his L J Hooker car over the last two years.
“This is a great opportunity towards my goal to become the overall NZ rally champion, and what a great team PBMS are with their depth of knowledge in the sport. Not to mention I will also pilot the first Mitsubishi that PBMS has ever fully run and backed in the NZRC. Another exciting moment in national rally history to be part of!”
Clinton is welcoming back his navigator Greg Ruka who jointly owns RCK Contractors with him. Clinton along with his passionate team are completely focussed on working with PBMS toward the NZRC championship title this year.
“My job For 2016 is to bring PBMS back to the forefront of rallying in NZ, with good consistent stage times and finishing every event along with other off event marketing duties.”
