Following today’s government COVID-19 update with the continuation of the level 3 lockdowns, we must postpone the Targa New Zealand 2021 event. With so many factors to consider, such as the availability of support services (officials, medical, recovery and RallySafe), Council approval processes, resident consultation and traffic management just to name a few, we believe the prudent plan is to re-schedule this year’s Targa New Zealand event to May 2022, in anticipation of less Covid restrictions at that time.
The great news is that we are currently planning our 2022 calendar to accommodate this change. We are also looking at a possible two day March event in the North Island, then an October two day event, followed by the NZ Silver Fern Rally in November, both in the South Island.
