It will be an Aussie vs Kiwi battle in New Zealand’s first TengTools International Rallycross meeting at Bay Park Stadium , Tauranga at the end of February .
To be held over two afternoon and evenings , this Rallycross event will utilise the clay surfaced speedway circuit , the gravel infield including a table-top jump , and the large tarmac area adjacent to the circuit . These sections will be joined together to form an exciting rallycross course , beamed on TV large screens throughout the venue .
Representing Australia will be the Techsport Rallycross Team , who have entered two potent Mitsubishi Evo’s .
Track and rally star Steve Glenney will be driving Techsport’s purpose-built Evo 8 RX , which won the inaugural Extreme Rallycross event at Lakeside , Queensland last September .
Rally Champion Marcus Walkem will drive his unrestricted Evo IX rally car that dominated last year’s Australian Rally Championship , with an outright victory in the 4WD category .
