Rally Argentina

The new generation WRC cars will do battle in the Southern Hemisphere for the first time at Rally Argentina from 28th to 30th April 2017.  It will also be the first time Hayden Paddon and John Kennard are defending champions in a WRC event, having scored their debut win following a blistering El Condor power stage in 2016.  Seb Ogier will be hungry for victory on the only current WRC event he has not won.

An unfortunate clash of dates has International Rally of Whangarei occurring the same weekend, this means fewer Kiwi supporters will be in Argentina than might otherwise have been expected.  Whangarei is the opening round of Asia Pacific Rally Championship 2017 and second round of New Zealand Rally Championship, so for drivers, organisers and support crews, Whangarei is the only destination for the weekend.

Gary Boyd is one of the few Kiwis we know of heading to Argentina to enjoy the rally as well as the local steaks.  He will provide us with a “rally fan’s” South American adventure story in the second edition of A Little Bit Sideways Magazine.

Not committed to Whangarei?  Well it is not too late to join Gary and other English speaking fans on tour.  You can contact him for details on KiwiWRCfan@vodafone.co.nz
